Let me tell you- my little guy (ok, he's officially as tall as me these days) can't stop talking about his week at Sylvan Learning Center in Huntington. He is obsessed with their Lego Robots and has become quite the expert on making them.

Kids are guided to design their robot of the day based on a theme such as carnival or transportation and the structures are quite impressive. Students learned how to program and build their creations. They can record special sound effects that their creation will play.

My son loved building his vehicle and thinking through the possibilities. His first vehicle he tried to model after the crazy bus you see at the carnivals.  He was super excited to joust the robots, and he won a Bronze ribbon! He has never been so excited to learn. Sylvan does a great job individualizing when needed to make sure even a beginner like him feels comfortable creating whatever it is their brilliant minds can conceive.

They are now registering for fall.   Conveniently located at 1160 East Jericho Turnpike, courses include gaming, Robotics 101 and 201 and a Free Build option for groups of 6, as well as traditional tutoring and SAT Prep.
